Thank you for everything Don Auriello
A few days ago, we had to say farewell to our beloved Don Auriello, because to an unfortunate accident in the field.
Anton (born 2002, by Don Davidoff out of White Star) was bred by Joachim Poppe in Germany and came to us at the age of 8.For nearly a decade, Anton and Tinne were an inseparable duo. Together, they have 2 Olympics, 2 World Championships, 2 European Championships, and 5 World Cup Finals on their résumé, with a total of 42 international victories. In 2012, they set the Swedish record in Grand Prix, and for a period, held Swedish records in Grand Prix and Grand Prix Freestyle. In 2015, they also won the prestigious Grosse Preiss in Aachen.
In 2019, the Swedish audience bid Anton a touching farewell at the Friends Arena, after which he has been living with his groom Sara Lord.
It's nearly impossible to put into words how much Anton meant, not just to all of us who were lucky enough to be part of his life, but especially to Tinne:
"I loved Anton from the very first moment. To ride and get to know a horse like him was a dream come true. He was a truly unique individual, a horse with a big heart, fantastic temperament, and always giving his best. I am grateful and proud of everything we experienced together. I also want to extend a big thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey, but some I want to mention a little extra. Antonia, who has made everything possible and who supports us every step of the way. Thank you, Lussan, for finding Anton and for never missing a single one of his competitions. Thanks to his grooms Josefin Schrewelius, Ilona Eisman, and Sara Lord. Sara has also ensured that he has had a fantastic life with her in recent years.
But the biggest thank you of all goes to Anton. Thank you for everything. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts."
You´ll find a film put together by SVT and a film from Lillasyster Production about Don Auirello below.
