Soissons van de Kattenberg was approved in BWP in 2026.

The sire Ermitage Kalone was approved as a 3-year-old in Selle Français and was then moved to Belgium to Joris Van Dijck Stables, where he competed successfully in the Pavo Cup. As a 5-year-old, he finished 6th in the Stallions Championship in Belgium.

Gilles Thomas took over the reins of the stallion in 2021. He achieved placings in Opglabbeek, Valkenswaard, and Lier CSI Young Horse classes, and ended the season in Lanaken in the 7-year-old classes at the World Championships. He made his debut in 4* and 5* classes and has achieved top results including: winner of the 1.40m Grand Prix in Turnhout, second place in the Valkenswaard 2* Grand Prix, third place in a 1.45m class at Brussels CSI 3*, and fifth place in the “Open Sires of the World” at Mechelen CSI 5*.

Since then, Ermitage Kalone has gone from strength to strength in the very top classes and can now also add the Olympic Games in Paris to his list of achievements. Ermitages sire, Catoki, won his stallion test in 2001 in Radegast. He was very successful in young horse classes, becoming reserve Bundeschampion as a five-year-old in 2003 and placing fourth among six-year-olds in 2004. Since 2005, he has achieved placings at international level.

Since 2011, Catoki has achieved placings in World Cup competitions, Nations Cups, and Grand Prix classes in venues such as Vigo, Bordeaux, Doha, La Baule, Aachen, Hickstead, Balve, Calgary, Helsinki, and Valkenswaard. Emil Hallundbæk took over the ride in 2013 and was, among other achievements, second in the CSIO2* Grand Prix in Vienna and a finalist at the European Junior Championships.

The dam of Ermitage, Janet B, comes from the Dermie line, mare family 26 (family 900). In the dam line, we find Kenwi (1.50m jumping), with the offspring Endgame (international 1.35m).
