Salvatore Ferragamo was approved with a score of 41 points for conformation and was considered an elegant, long-lined stallion with natural presence. The walk was judged relaxed, energetic, and ground-covering. The trot is rhythmic, energetic, and elastic. The canter is balanced, carrying, and energetic.
Salvatore Ferragamo is cooperative and obedient. The test riders emphasized that he has three even, adjustable gaits that have potential for further development. Salvatore Ferragamo received praise, particularly for his canter and his well-balanced nature.
In the SWB Stallion Trophy 2022, Salvatore Ferragamo placed fifth, and Cathrine Laudrup Dufour praised both his rideability and gaits.
Valley's sire, Vitalis, was the reserve champion at NRW's licensing and achieved the highest dressage index in his stallion test in 2010. He went on to compete in the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses and the Pavo Cup finals before spending a few years in the USA, where he successfully competed in the Small Tour. Vitalis returned to Europe in 2016 and won the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal and Stallion of the Year (Intermediaire I) at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses.
Salvatore Ferragamo is the first offspring of the dam Madeira. The maternal grandmother, Weltdame, has produced the Hanoverian-approved stallions Alpha Royal DSP and Marian von Bellin DSP. The great-grandmother, Weltherrin, has produced an offspring with placements in MSV.
The grandfather, Millennium, was the second reserve champion in Neumünster, premium stallion in Oldenburg, and won several young horse classes. He became the vice Trakehner champion in Hannover and has placements the highest classes. Millennium is an elite-premium stallion and has produced several offspring that have become champion and premium stallions. Notable examples from his first year of offsprings are Sir Sansibar and Morricone. They were followed by Helium, Halleluja, Sir Samoa, and many more.
The great-grandfather, Fidertanz, won his approval, his 30-day test in Neustadt/Dosse with victory, and became the vice Bundeschampion in 2005 with a score of 9.5 in rideability. Fidertanz qualified for the Bundeschampionat in 2007 with a score of 8.8 while being heavily used in breeding. He has victories in Grand Prix. He has nearly 50 approved sons and many state premium mares. Many offspring have placed in the final of the Bundeschampionat, and several have competed successfully in young horse classes. One of the most well-known offspring in advanced classes is the Grand Prix horse Franziskus (ridden by Ingrid Klimke).
Salvatore Ferragamo is awarded premium status in SWB and approved in the South German associations.
